Hello!

Well, I leave tomorrow for Bali, Indonesia, so I thought I would catch up on my blog quick so I don't get too far behind! My pictures are a little out of order but they are from Halloween, more surfing pictures, and our weekend on Rottnest Island.

Tomorrow, Martha and I will be catching a flight to Bali, Indonesia for 6 days.. We are staying at the White Rose Spa Resort in the city of Kuta. There have been other groups in the CSB/SJU study abroad program who have just gotten back from Bali and had MANY stories to tell... Martha and I are going over study week because we will be staying with an Australian family when the rest of the group is in Bali. We plan to go on Temple tours, go white water rafting, and just hang out by the pool :) We made sure to get a SPA resort and will be there alllllll day... Well, we also have a lot of studying to do for finals so hopefully we will find time to squeeze that it.. Just kidding mom we WILL!

HALLOWEEN-

Martha and I dressed up as 20's Flappers. We spent an entire day, riding the train to different towns trying to find a costume shop but just ended up buying everything separate from different stores! Our group took a Party Bus about an hour away to the Hills, a bar that had a band and a DJ.. It was such a fun night seeing everyone's costumes! Australia doesn't celebrate Halloween as much as the U.S. does...but over the past couple of years it has gained a little popularity. 

ROTTNEST ISLAND-

"Rotto" is about a 30 minute ferry ride from Fremantle. It is a huge vacation spot for tourists and families from the area... you can rent condos, stay in a hostel or camp.... Our group decided to rough it again and camp! Once we got there we had breakfast and then rented mountain bikes... we biked around the island for HOURS... it was absolutely beautiful..but we were all so sore the next day! After our bike ride we decided to go set up our tents at the campsite... "Okay so who grabbed the third tent?" - "I did!" said Peter...

"Okay well...who grabbed the rods to set it up?" .... SILENCE..

we slept SIX PEOPLE in TWO, 3-person tents..... it was funny for about the first half an hour!!!

All throughout the island there are little animals called Quoakkas.. they look like rabbits/huge rats... I woke up to one literally laying against my face through the tent.... We had an interesting experience on Rottnest Island...!! The next day we tanned on the white sand beach until it was time to head home....

I will write again when I get home from BALI, INDONESIA! :) :)

I am getting extremely excited to come home...but sad that it is going by so fast! Only 40 more days until I am back in Minnesota!
